About Cautley House

At Cautley House, we want your stay to be as restful and friendly as possible. Why not spend an hour or two relaxing in our beautiful gardens, or take a stroll along the Royal Military Canal?

There are plenty of local attractions including the beach which is just a short walk from the house and if you want to venture further, you could visit Dover Castle or the Catherdral City of Canterbury.

We have also introduced the Rainbow Room, in which part of the small lounge has now become a creative art space for guests and visitors. Everything you need is there - pictures and designs are ready for your own colour plan and there is plenty of paper for drawing. There is a good selection of coloured pencils, water colour and pastel pencils and a wide range of felt tip and brush pens. You can also create pictures with all the odd scraps, scissors, glue etc. We are grateful for donations towards replacing stock and if you wish to colour a particular picture or design, please ask for it to be copied first. We also have a large selection of art books.

We have an art workshop every week for guests and visitors to 'have a go'. The workshop runs from 14:00 to 16:00 on a Friday and places should be booked with the office beforehand.
