Things to do at Cautley House and the surrounding area
Cautley House is situated between Seabrook and Hythe, just three miles west of Folkestone. It is within a couple of minutes’ level walk to the sea front, and the Royal Military Canal.
The Royal Military Canal
The canal was constructed 200 years ago as a defence against Napoleon and runs for 28 miles from just east of Hythe across to the Sussex border. Along its banks are beautiful walkways and there are many places to stop and enjoy a picnic, or just a well earned rest!
Boating is available nearby in Hythe and the canal is the venue for the ‘Hythe Venetian Fete’, which takes place in August every two years.
